Kayla's Field Day

June 1st was Kayla's Field Day~ a few pictures to share the day.

My Gramma...she passed away on June 14th several years ago. The days she lay in bed sick a few of us took turns sitting with her singing to the Lord. She would always insist that we go eat...that was her way of loving on us. The few moments before she passed away I took sometime to sit with God alone...He gave me this Scripture...I received it as though it was my Gramma's last words to me. Ecclesiastes 12:1-7

"1 Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, Before the difficult days come, And the years draw near when you say, "I have no pleasure in them": 2 While the sun and the light, The moon and the stars, Are not darkened, And the clouds do not return after the rain; 3 In the day when the keepers of the house tremble, And the strong men bow down; When the grinders cease because they are few, And those that look through the windows grow dim; 4 When the doors are shut in the streets, And the sound of grinding is low; When one rises up at the sound of a bird, And all the daughters of music are brought low; 5 Also they are afraid of height, And of terrors in the way; When the almond tree blossoms, The grasshopper is a burden, And desire fails. For man goes to his eternal home, And the mourners go about the streets. 6 Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed, F11 Or the golden bowl is broken, Or the pitcher shattered at the fountain, Or the wheel broken at the well. 7 Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it. "

I miss my gramma sooo much....I think about her almost everyday~ XOXOXO to you Gramma~

In my last job my friends and I came up with a saying " STAY IN YOUR BOX". It was our reminder to each other that we needed to mind our own business and not give into the urge to offer advice or gossip. God encourages us as women to mind our business ~ He knows we have enough of our own responsibility!

kid question of the week

Jaidyn and Jordan were sitting in my back seat yesterday on our way to Betty's house...

Jaidyn asked Jordan "How does Jesus make the rain?"

Jordan: "I don't know"

Jaidyn: " He spits!"

June 3 jordan's recital continued

After the recital we(Betty, Scott, Kayla,Conor, Bruce, Gyrnie, Jenn, Truman, Olivia, Jaidyn, Mackenzie and I) met at my sister Betty's house for dinner. We had cheeseburgers, hotdogs, pasta salad& chips for dinner. Unfortunately Jenn and her kids had to leave early to pick my bro Don up from work. Jordan, Kayla and I went outside to play a few games...Mother May I~~ I cheated sooo bad in this game because I didn't want to give up being mother. Eventually they caught onto my trick and Kayla took a turn at being mom. We moved onto Red light green light..and this is where I tried to convince them it was time to go in...YEAH RIGHT!!! So after being inside for probably 2 seconds and I knew full well that I was destined to be back outside ... so I figured if I was going down so wasn't everyone else in the house. First I told Kay and Jordie that I would continue playing these games only if their mom played... when I turned around to see my sister's reaction...she was shaking her fist at me. HAHA TOO BAD!!!!!!!!!! Next I got Bruce out there. What fun!!!! We played freeze tag and another round of Mother May I. It all ended when they tried to get us to paly hide and seek...smart sister I have ... she told them to hide first she played one round and told them to hide again. They did and we sat down and forgot about them. You should have heard them yelling," DO YOU GIVE UP????" But of course we did.

Jordan's recital

For the past few weeks Jordan has been giving me little glimpses of her ballet recital. Yesterday I had the privililege of taking her to the dress rehearsal. Today was the big event. I don't think anyone was disappointed. These ballerinas danced for Jesus. The title of the performance was CATCH A FIRE 4 JESUS.
